What is Prejuvenation?

Prejuvenation is a proactive (rather than reactive) approach where the focus is on prevention instead of correction. Prejuvenation combines skincare regimens and minimally invasive procedures to help delay the signs of aging, and reduce the extent of corrective treatments needed in the future.

Prejuvenation At Home

In the morning, an effective homecare regimen should at minimum include antioxidants like our Vita-CE with Ferulic Acid serum, and a sunscreen like our HA Physical Tint SPF 44. At night, you should prioritize topical retinoids like our Tretinol Serum 0.5%, and a moisturizer like our best seller Intense Recovery Cream specifically developed to combat the irritation caused by highly active products.

Prejuvenation With Minimally Invasive Procedures

Cosmetic procedures appropriate for prejuvenation include IPL treatments to remove early sun-damage, and tissue tightening devices such as RF microneedling. The best time to consider conservative dermal fillers or neuromodulators is before you notice “static” lines. At Luminous, we also recommend alternating between TixelⓇ and facial treatments quarterly to maintain your skin in optimal condition.

What is Baby-Botox?

Baby BotoxⓇ is like a traditional neuromodulator treatment (also offered with XeominⓇ or DysportⓇ), but comes in smaller doses. For example, instead of using 35 units, your injector might use 10-20 units in targeted micro-injections. A good candidate for Baby BotoxⓇ is someone who’s never had neuromodulators before and wants to experiment with the results, or someone in their twenties who wants to prevent fine lines before they start to appear.
